Libraries are known for using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) both for automation of its routine activities as well as for providing search services to the users. Computers are increasingly used in libraries both for internal operations as well as for accessing information that is available in the four walls of the library. The application of computers avoids repetitive jobs and save labour and time both for users as well as outside the library staff. Computers are not only used as a data processing tool, but also for information storage, access and retrieval.
HIPER Learning Resource Centre is using Web-Based Integrated Library Management Software Vidya since 2018 and computerized circulation, acquisition, cataloguing, serials control of the Library. A web page OPAC is available to access the data of the LRC.
LIBRARY COLLECTION:
There are about 4000 books including Reference Books, Text Books and general books.
PREODICALS/JOURNALS:
LRC is subscribing 10 National & International journals / Magazines.
FACILITIES TO THE USERS:
The under mentioned facilities are being provided to the Users:
1. CIRCULATION SECTION:
Borrowing Facility:
i) Faculty Members can borrow maximum 8 books for a period of 7 days.
ii) Students can borrow maximum 4 books for 3 days.
1.2 RESERVATION POLICY:
There is a reservation policy of books for the users. Users may request the staff member to take advantage of this policy. Any book to be reserved by the users will be kept for only one day. Students are requested to get in touch with the Counter staff and take that book.
XEROX / SCANNNG FACILITY:
Scanning /Xerox facility is available in the LRC @ Rs 2 per page. As copy right act, whole book will not be Xeroxed.
NEW ARRIVAL:
A list of new books added in the LRC will be circulated to the faculty members on their word sap. A list of current contents of new journals will also be circulated to the faculty members.
REFERENCE BOOKS:
Reference books like Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Government / Institution Publications like Indian Pharmacopoeia will not be issued. However, Xerox copy of some pages can be provided on request.
LRC RULES:
i) Only bonafide students are allowed in the LRC
ii) No personal books are allowed inside the LRC
iii) Books will not be issued without Library Card issued from time to time.
iv) Eatable things are not allowed inside the LRC
v) Silence is requested inside the LRC
vi) Mark your attendance on the Register kept in the LRC
vii) In case of lost / damage of books, latest price with Rs 200 as Binding Charges will be taken from the users.
viii) Please maintain the discipline in the LRC
ix) Books will not be re-issued in any cost
x) An overdue charge of Rs 5/- per day per book will be charged if any book issued to the users returns late.
NOTE: Users are requested to feel free to see the Librarian for any help related
to the services. Any suggestions from the users are most welcome.
